At the City of London, I was involved in consulting with the public on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) network, a proposed citywide project. I assisted in rebranding the project by creating social media campaigns that increased public engagement, by developing an advertisement for radio and television that helped convey the project clearly and by holding weekly public consultation meetings that kept Londoners engaged in the project. I spent a large portion of the internship crafting a new website for BRT, coming up with copy, photography and web design to make information accessible to all.

Website Design

I supported the development and management of the BRT website, which offers general information on the project as well as information tailored to specific audiences (e.g. car owners, transit riders, home and business owners). This involved copywriting, photography and web design using WordPress.

Social Media Management

I managed content development, monitoring and reporting for BRT’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. I created two social media campaigns to increase Twitter's and Facebook's audience and engagement: weekly rapid transit Twitter polls and transit throwback Thursday. I was also the on-camera reporter for social media video content, including public consultation promotional videos. Click here to view social media work samples.

Legal Research and Writing

Stakeholder Engagement Plan

I oversaw the research and implementation of the BRT’s stakeholder engagement report, guiding the project’s strategy to communicate with local stakeholders (e.g. local businesses, community groups) to keep them informed and engaged with the project. This was foundational in choosing the most effective method of communication during the consultation phase of the BRT.

Ad Copywriting

I wrote copy for BRT print and radio advertisements in order to convey how public consultation works. The ad reached an audience of over 400,000.

Digital Analytics Report

I wrote a three-page digital analytics report to analyze BRT's website, social media and e-newsletter analytics. This helps track the success of and guide online campaigns.
